The Executive Division of the WSC and representatives of 5th Army Corps called Poles to join the Guard and Security Service. A conscription point was set up at Emperor William’s Library (presently: the Adam Mickiewicz University Library). Volunteers received uniforms and were granted food, accommodation and pay.
