Józef Piłsudski in Poznań

During a banquet held on 26 October in the Imperial Castle, Józef Piłsudski made a speech to honour Greater Poland and its inhabitants. He ended it with the following words: "When I think about the challenges facing Poland, I would like Poland to share your passion for work that will permeate the entire country and give all Poles the ability to work in a way that is reliable and fair. Deeply convinced that the inhabitants of Greater Poland will share this virtue with the rest of the country, I would like to propose a toast: Long live Poznań and the region that survived such heavy fighting, and still came out victorious!”
