Creation of military districts

– An order from the Supreme Command of the insurgent armies concerning the division of the Duchy of Poznań into seven military districts. Two more districts were created on 13 January. A district commander commanded subordinate units, formed a regular army of insurgent units and defended the adjacent section of the front.

– German forces from Piła attacked Chodzież and occupied the town. Second Lieutenant Włodzimierz Kowalski’s unit was forced out.

– An air-raid was conducted by German aeroplanes from the Frankfurt on Oder airport on Ławica. 6 bombs were dropped and 2 barracks were burnt down.

– In Gostyń, nearly 400 volunteers were divided into two insurgent companies.
