Fighting near Wolsztyn and the death of Second Lieutenant Edmund Krause

The Germans occupied the forebridge area near Grójec Wielki. The position made it easier for them to attack Wolsztyn. An attempt at recovering the bridgehead was unsuccessful. Two groups of insurgents were defeated. The Germans were supported by a light infantry unit, which helped them loosen up the first line. Surrounded, Second Lieutenant Edmund Krause, wanting to avoid being taken into captivity, committed suicide. Polish losses were 32 dead and 35 wounded soldiers. 40 Germans were killed and 70 were wounded.
