In 1996

1 – prof.  Antoni Czubiński – a historian from the Adam Mickiewicz University, and a well-known and appreciated author of many books and scientific studies regarding the Greater Poland Uprising.

2 – Gerard Górnicki – a literary man and author of, among others, novels about the Greater Poland Uprising entitled “Bitwa szalała do wieczora” and “Mściwoji Anna Maria”.

3 – The International Poznań Fair – for consideration of the history and traditions of Poznań and Greater Poland in its activities.

In 1997

4 – Paweł Anders – a columnist, tourist activist and the author of the following publications: “Miejsca pamięci Powstania Wielkopolskiego,” “Szlakiem Powstania Wielkopolskiego” and others.

5 – Marek Nowakowski – a journalist of the TYP Centre in Poznań, a film documentalist and the author of such movies as e.g. “Jutro” and “Poznańczycy”, regarding the subject of the Greater Poland Uprising.

6 – prof. Bogusław Polak – a historian, organiser and author of books about the Greater Poland Uprising, including “Generał Stanisław Taczak 1874-1960″ and the monograph “Powstanie Wielkopolskie 1918/1919”.


In 1998

7 – Piotr Bauer Ph.D., - a historian and author of many books and studies regarding the Greater Poland Uprising, including ”Generał Józef Dowbor – Muśnicki”.

8 – Grzegorz Łukomski Ph.D. - The author of many books and studies regarding the Greater Poland Uprising, and co-author of the monograph “Powstanie Wielkopolskie 1918/1919”.

9 – Bernard Maćkowiak, a promoter of knowledge about the uprising in the Szczecin province, and the initiator and organiser of many projects related to the history of the Greater Poland Uprising, including; the awarding of the name of Greater Poland Insurgents to Primary School No. 30 in Szczecin, the placement of a commemorative plaque in honour of the insurgents in the Garrison Church and the baptism of the MS “Powstaniec Wielkopolski”.

10 – The Greater Poland Insurgent Command of the “Piast” Scout Troop Poznań Stare Miasto – organiser of many educational projects related to the history of the Greater Poland Uprising among the scouting youth.


In 1999

11 – Zenon Erdmann – an organiser and director of the Museum of the Uprising in Szubin, and the author of studies regarding the history of insurgent fights; on his initiative, the Troop of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association in Szubin took the name of Heroes of the Greater Poland Uprising.

12 – Teofil Różański – a journalist, marine painter, promoter and documentary film-maker who dealt with the subject of the participation of mariners in the Greater Poland Uprising 1918/1919; among other things, on his initiative, commemorative plaques devoted to the 4th Mariner Company commanded by Adam Białoszyński were placed. 

13 – Eugeniusz Wachowiak - a poet and author of several volumes of poetry, including those devoted to the participation of Greater Poland residents in uprisings; based on his work, a radio play and a script for a television film regarding the subject of the uprising were created.

14 – The Editorial Staff of “Głos Wielkopolski” - it regularly popularises the history of the persistence of the Polish identity and the fights for independence in Greater Poland, significantly contributing to the popularisation of the history of the Greater Poland Uprising.


In 2000

15 – Zdzisław Kościański Ph.D., - a historian, employee of the Board of Education in Poznań, promoter of the history of the Greater Poland Uprising 1918/1919, and author of a number of non-serial and journalistic publications regarding the uprising. Also the initiator and participant of popular science sessions.

16 – Marian Król Ph.D., - president of the Hipolit Cegielski Society and the Greater Poland Food Foundation, promoter of the Greater Poland traditions and initiator of the MP’s resolution to honour the 75th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising and the act granting the rights of war-disabled persons to veterans of the Greater Poland Uprising and Silesian uprising. Also the initiator of, among other things, the Chronicle of celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising.

17- Ryszard Skupin – a visual artist, sculptor and painter who has significant achievements related to the Greater Poland Uprising, i.e. author of the effigy on the Górczyn cemetery - devoted to Franciszek Ratajczak and his companions, the stone for the memory of the uprising in Szamotuły and the decorations for the MS “Powstaniec Wielkopolski”

18 – The Greater Poland Insurgents Primary School No. 2 in Pakość, Kuyavian-Pomeranian province - for active work related to the cultivation of the traditions of the Greater Poland Uprising. Among other things, the crowning achievement of this activity was the bringing of the inhabitants of Pakość together in the Circle of the Society for the Memory of the Greater Poland Uprising, established on the basis of the school.
