In 2018

99 - Marek Woźniak – the Marshal of the Greater Poland Province, and initiator and patron of enterprises related to the commemoration of the Greater Poland Uprising, including but not limited to the following examples of publications “Encyklopedia Powstania Wielkopolskiego” [The Encyclopaedia of the Greater Poland Uprising], the yearbook “Wielkopolski Powstaniec [Greater Poland Uprising] and “Powstańcy Wielkopolscy. Biogramy uczestników Powstania Wielkopolskiego 1918-1919” [Greater Poland Insurgents. Biographical notes of participants of the Greater Poland Uprising 1918-1919].

100 – Bartosz Kruszyński – doctor of history at the Institute of History of the Department of History of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the author and co-author of many publications, including scientific textbooks related to the Greater Poland Uprising 1918-1919.

101 – Maciej Myczka – a regionalist, a promoter of the knowledge and tradition of the Greater Poland Uprising, an initiator of many projects aimed at the commemoration of the victorious independence effort of the Greater Poland residents. He is the president of the Association of Military Enthusiasts at the Lubusz Military Museum in Zielona Góra.

102 - Polish Radio “Zachód” [West] – a promoter of knowledge about the Greater Poland Uprising and the activities of the Lubusz Branch of the Society for the Memory of the Greater Poland Uprising. It presents the key figures and the fortunes of the Greater Poland Insurgents and their descendants, and also reportages and interviews regarding the course of insurgent fighting and reports during the course of anniversary celebrations.

103 - Casimirus the Great University in Bydgoszcz – an organiser of scientific conferences and exhibitions devoted to the subject of the Greater Poland Uprising; its academic staff includes researchers and authors of many publications regarding the subject of the regaining of independence, including the Greater Poland Uprising and the fortunes of its participants.

104 – The Provincial Public Library and Culture Animation Centre in Poznań – an institution which is credited for the cultivation of the memory of the Greater Poland Uprising 1918/1919, having followed up subjects related to the Greater Poland Uprising on many occasions. These activities cover the following achievements: bibliographies, compilations, studies, recollections and a review which was published in the “Kronika Wielkopolski” [Chronicle of Greater Poland].

2019

105 – Waldemar Banaszyński - a distinguished promoter of the memory of the Greater Poland Uprising, and a member of the Association of Militaria Enthusiasts “West” in Wolsztyn. He runs a restoration workshop for historical military technology. An initiator of the construction of a replica of an Austin Putilov armoured vehicle called ”Poznańczyk”.

106 – Wawrzyniec Wierzejewski - the president of the Greater Poland Branch of the Society for the Memory of the Greater Poland Uprising 1918/1919, and a historian, researcher and promoter of the history of Greater Poland and of scouting in the territory of the Prussian partition. There are two aspects of activities which must be distinguished in his popularisation work: 1) the preliminary stage of the outbreak of the Greater Poland Uprising, i.e., above all, the activity of the scouts and the military side of the pre-uprising conspiracy 2) the honouring of Marshal Foch as one of the most important architects of the victory of the Uprising.

107 - Piotr Wojtczak- for many years a pedagogue and scout activist who has actively worked for over 30 years on the popularisation of the history and values related to the regaining of independence by Poland. He is the author of a unique publication: “100 lat Pamięci i obchodów rocznicowych Powstania Wielkopolskiego” [100 years of Memory and anniversary celebrations of the Greater Poland Uprising].

108 - Włodzimierz Lewandowski Ph.D. (1894-1940 R.I.P.) - a Greater Poland insurgent, a publicist and a historian; one of the most prominent specialists in the field of the Greater Poland Uprising 1918/1919. Not only did he deal with the respective episodes of insurgent fighting, but he also made attempts at synthesis discussion of the entire military insurgent movement. He appreciated the role of the Uprising in the shaping of the western border of Poland and he emphasised the role and function of insurgent fighting in the process of integration of the territories of the Republic of Poland.

109 – The Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance in Poznań; in recognition of activities related to the commemoration of historical events, places and figures in the history of the fighting of the Polish nation, including the victorious independence effort of the Greater Poland residents - the Greater Poland Uprising. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Greater Poland Uprising, the Institute of National Remembrance prepared exhibitions, educational spots and - together with scientific and cultural institutions, a special web portal devoted to the history and key figures of the Greater Poland Uprising.

 

Among the existing laureates of “The Drummer of the Greater Poland Uprising” there are historians, researchers, regionalists, poets, visual artists and journalists as well as editorial staff and organisations. The statuettes are presented every year on the anniversary of the outbreak of the Greater Poland Uprising during a ceremony attended by the Province Governor, the Marshal of the Greater Poland Province and the Mayor of Poznań. In this way the Main Board of the Society for the Memory of the Greater Poland Uprising 1918/1919 appreciates and distinguishes the creative environments for the popularisation and commemoration of the Greater Poland Uprising 1918/1919 in social awareness.
